Investments Officer Agriculture, Ciudad Guatemala, Guatemala
Oikocredit’s Country Office Guatemala, is looking for an Investment Officer for Agri Business (40 hours) to be based in Ciudad Guatemala, Guatemala. The Investment Officer is part of the Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean region, and reports to the Investment Manager.
The Investment Officer will work with internal and external experts as required in the best interests of our partners and Oikocredit. He/she will act as a relationship manager, translating market developments and client needs into opportunities to create impact and do business. Although specialised in a specific sector, the Investment Officer is conversant with Oikocredit’s strategy, sectors and its products & services.

The Investment Officer responsibilities include:
- Building, maintaining and monitoring a portfolio of investments with focus in the region
- Focusing on commercial activities and working closely together with specialists at regional level
- Co responsibility for the countries’ portfolio performance and quality check of new proposals
- Identify and originate impact investment opportunities through short-term debt for agricultural organizations in the region.
- Responsibility for developing networking of importers, foundations, financial institutions and government agencies through participation in both local and international events, representing Oikocredit.
- Conducting due diligence and preparing proposals, supporting the closing of deals and disbursements, monitoring and supporting capacity building projects.
- Support in the development of capacity building programs and subsidy projects for borrowers (agricultural export companies).

Education, skills and experience
- Professionals in Economics, Finance, Administration and Industrial Engineering, or in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering and Forestry Engineering with studies and experience in financial analysis of agricultural companies.
- Master Degree in the field of finance and banking, business administration or economic development
- Four to six years’ experience in banking, market analysis and economic development with a proven track-record of sourcing, structuring and closing investments for corporate segments, conducting financial statement analysis, risk assessment, due diligence in the field, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of inclusive finance and social impact
- Strong analytical skills
- Familiarity with financial analysis using advanced financial modelling.
- Solid understanding of and ability to evaluate company financial statements.
- Good business acumen and strong interpersonal skills
- Extensive user skills of Microsoft Excel and computer literacy in general
- Excellent written and verbal command of English
Desirable:
- Experience in impact financing and more particularly in financial inclusion, agriculture and renewable energy
- Knowledge of the coffee, cocoa, fresh fruit and vegetable and other smallholder´s value chains and agricultural industries in the region will be valued, as well as the concepts of sustainability, impact banking, innovation and technology in agriculture
- Experience in foreign lending, capital markets, securitization, trade finance
