Head of Specialised Finance and Partnerships
Senior role in developing and implementing innovative financial products, fostering strategic partnerships, and managing high-impact investment portfolios.
Reporting to: Chief Impact Investment Officer
Direct reports: Head of Climate and Community Resilience, Head of Agriculture, Equity Managers and Head of Partnerships and Blended Finance.
Key result areas of the unit
- Development and end-to-end management of Specialised Finance products (the global leadership on the agri portfolio, the climate and community resilience portfolio) and partnership building and equity investments, ensuring impact, quality and performance meet established KPIs.
- Development of new partnerships that allow for generating funding aside of Oikocredit balance sheet, additional to inflow activities and partnerships for de-risking.
- Ensure full compliance with investment mandates, local laws, regulations, and Oikocredit’s policies and guidelines.
- Monitor developments for designated functional areas, providing informed advice to internal and external stakeholders.
Job purpose
As the Head of Specialized Finance and Partnerships, you will drive the creation of innovative financial solutions, cultivate strategic alliances, and oversee diverse investment portfolios, totalling € 300 million. Your efforts will ensure alignment with Oikocredit’s mission of maximizing social impact while maintaining financial sustainability.
Result areas of the job
- Innovation and Product Development: Manage the design and launch of new financial products and structures that address emerging market needs and opportunities for funding aside the balance sheet. Align with organizational objectives. Drive scalability and efficiency in product development, focusing on impact and financial performance.
- Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain partnerships with financial institutions, NGOs, and impact investors to co-create solutions.
- Portfolio Management and Growth: Oversee the development and management of diversified portfolios in climate and community resilience, agriculture, and equity investments.
- Collaboration and Cross-Unit Alignment: Promote collaboration across units to share insights and best practices, to build on innovative ideas and partnerships, and to work together on efficient and seamless processes and workflows. Promote a culture of teamwork and shared accountability within the unit and across the organization.
- Operational Excellence: Streamline processes across specialized finance initiatives to enhance efficiency. Promote cross-unit collaboration to leverage knowledge and drive organizational objectives.
- Risk and Compliance Management: Ensure investments adhere to local and international regulations, as well as internal policies. Actively manage risks to align with Oikocredit’s tolerance and objectives.
- Leadership and Team Development: Cultivate an enabling and engaging work climate, fostering team collaboration and growth. Ensure the right talent is in place, with clear development paths and performance management systems.
Education, skills and experience
- Masters degree in Development Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of experience in impact investing, financial products, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in product innovation, partnership building, and managing high-impact portfolios
- Expertise in equity investment (must), financial structuring, investment analysis, and compliance.
- Strong project and portfolio management capabilities.
- Fluency in English.
