About the department
The Enterprise Risk & Compliance Unit is responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating key risks—such as credit, operational, and compliance risks—across the organization. The compliance functions provides regulatory and compliance advice and support across Oikocredit’s global operations. The team plays a key role in identifying, assessing compliance risks, ensuring the organisation operates ethically and in line with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.
About the job
As a Compliance Intern, you will support the Group Compliance Officer in the mission to promote good conduct and help manage compliance risks. You will gain hands-on experience in areas such as the EU’s Artificial Intelligence Act, Anti-Money Laundering Legislation, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, investor protection regulation, policy development, compliance monitoring, and training and awareness initiatives. This internship is ideal for students interested in financial regulation, ethics, and social impact investing.
The start date will be in September, for a period of 4 – 6 months.
Main responsibilities
- Assist in tracking and summarizing recent developments in AML, Sanctions, Data Protection, Investor Protection Regulation
- Support future and ongoing regulatory implementation and policy development
- Assist in preparing compliance training materials and awareness campaigns.
- Help maintain compliance documentation and registers.
- Update and organize compliance templates.
- Participate in compliance-related projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Law, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in compliance, ethics, or financial regulation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of compliance tools is a plus.

- You will receive an internship allowance amounting to €500 gross per month for Master students and €400 gross per month for Bachelor’s students, on the basis of 40 hours per week. In case the number of hours is less, the allowance will be calculated pro rata.
- In case you do not have a public transport (OV) subscription, Oikocredit will reimburse travel expenses on the base of second class public transport.
