Head of Marketing and Communication
We’re looking for an experienced Head of Marketing & Communications to lead strategy and execution, unite teams, and translate our mission into impactful campaigns.
Result areas of the department
- Strategy, Planning and Internal Enablement - Responsible for strategy development. Ensure department-wide planning, performance tracking, campaign coordination, and capacity building. Ensure communication and marketing efforts are aligned across teams and audiences. Manage external partners and freelancers strategically and efficiently.
- Brand, Content and Corporate Communication – Safeguard consistent and compelling corporate narrative and reputation across all channels, with high-quality storytelling and official publications that meet compliance standards. Provide advice to leadership on crisis communication and reducing reputational risk. Foster staff engagement and alignment with Oikocredit’s mission and strategy through effective internal communication messaging and tools, in collaboration with HR and other departments.
- Investor Marketing and Channel Activation - Drive investor engagement through targeted campaigns, product positioning, and compliant messaging. Optimise the investor journey in close collaboration with retail and institutional sales teams and regional stakeholders. Manage consistent brand presence across all media, efficient content distribution, and continuous improvement through performance monitoring.
About the job
The Head of Marketing & Communications is responsible for leading and integrating all external and internal communications, building the Oikocredit brand, coordination of investor marketing efforts (with a strong focus on capital inflow) across Oikocredit, and supporting the inflow network in their role as ambassador of Oikocredit’s brand and investor movement.
The role ensures a consistent and compelling voice across audiences and channels to strengthen Oikocredit’s reputation, increase investor engagement, and support mission-driven capital raising. This includes setting the overall strategic direction, coordinating cross-functional campaigns, and building an agile and collaborative team culture
Main responsibilities
Strategy, Planning and Internal Enablement
- Personally lead this domain, ensuring overall coherence, coordination and high performance of the marketing and communications team.
- Drive annual planning, budgeting and prioritisation processes.
- Direct the development of investor marketing strategies.
- Lead the cross-domain studio to develop content
- Implement and maintain performance monitoring and reporting to enable data-informed decision making.
Brand, Content and Corporate Communication
- Lead strategic alignment of Oikocredit’s narrative, positioning and reputation management across external communication.
- Provide oversight and direction on content development including storytelling and official reports such as the annual and impact reports.
- Ensure formal publications are accurate, compliant, visually appealing and relevant to audiences.
- Guide the team in producing complex and sensitive corporate content balancing narrative quality with regulatory demands.
- Ensure close collaboration with CEO and chair of the Supervisory Board in relation to crisis communication and reputational issues.
- Provide strategic oversight to ensure internal communication promotes staff engagement, alignment and connection.
- Support the internal communication officer in cross-department collaboration, especially with HR.
- Manage internal communication and supports engagement across teams to keep staff informed and connected to the organisation’s strategy, values and activities.

Investor Marketing and Channel Activation
- Direct the execution of investor marketing strategies and campaigns to support capital raising objectives.
- Oversee planning and design of investor propositions ensuring compliance and alignment with audience needs.
- Collaborate with Investor Engagement teams to guarantee consistency between central messaging and local implementation.
- Drive and optimise multi-channel marketing efforts to attract and retain investors, strengthen the Oikocredit movement, and ensure continuous improvement of the digital investor journey and campaign performance through data-driven insights.
- Set priorities and lead strategic guidance for channel use and content delivery across digital and print platforms.
- Ensure all published materials meet brand standards and deadlines.
- Manage collaboration between the in-house designer, content producers and channel managers.
- Monitor distribution effectiveness and guide improvements where needed.

Education, skills and experience
- Advanced university degree in marketing, communications, (behavioural) economics or another relevant field.
Experience:
- At least 10 years of professional experience in marketing and communications, including a minimum of 5 years in leading multidisciplinary teams in an international or multi-stakeholder context. Experience in capital raising/ fundraising, impact investing or financial services for retail audiences is considered a strong asset.
- Experience in public relations, media engagement, and crisis communication, with the ability to manage reputational risks, handle sensitive issues with discretion, and maintain consistent brand messaging across diverse audiences and platforms.
- Proven track record in developing and delivering strategic marketing and communication plans, including both investor-focused and corporate content.
- Comfortable operating at the intersection of storytelling, regulation, and reputation.
- Hands-on experience with digital and traditional media, content production workflows (including visual and print materials), and managing end-to-end campaigns and events. Skilled in guiding both internal and outsourced creative processes.
- Experienced in working with diverse audiences and tailoring communications to different groups, such as investors, institutional partners, internal staff and the general public.
Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of, or strong interest in, the regulatory context of retail investment products across multiple markets, with the ability to ensure marketing and communication activities remain compliant.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data, extract meaningful insights, and connect the dots to guide strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach, with proven ability to work effectively in a multicultural, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
