Events Coordinator
For a period of 12 months, we’re looking for an Events Coordinator to step in and make an impact. You’ll be taking ownership of planning and delivering engaging events.
About the job
The Events Coordinator is responsible for designing and executing strategic investor events that enhance engagement with Oikocredit’s major investors and prospects.
This role takes an audience-first approach, ensuring every event from intimate roundtables and webinars to large investor forums is tailored to the needs, languages, and interests of investors. The Events Coordinator works closely with the High Value Account Managers, Mass Retail specialists and Marketing, Communication & GTLA team to create memorable experiences that deepen relationships, communicate Oikocredit’s mission and impact, and ultimately contribute to increased investments and investor loyalty.
Main responsibilities
Event Strategy & Planning:
Collaborate with the High value & Mass Retail teams to develop an annual events strategy targeting mainly high-value investors, aligning event themes and formats with broader investor engagement goals and audience preferences.
Create a comprehensive event calendar for investor engagements, balancing various languages, time zones, and cultural occasions to maximize global participation and impact.
Research and identify opportunities for innovative event formats (e.g. exclusive webinars, investor roundtables, visits, high-profile speaker events) that appeal to high-net-worth individuals and key institutional partners, ensuring content is relevant and language-appropriate for target audiences.
Event Execution & Logistics:
Plan and manage end-to-end logistics for investor events, both virtual and in-person. This includes venue selection or virtual platform management, vendor coordination, invitation and RSVP management, travel arrangements for participants or speakers, and on-site event management.
Ensure each event is delivered on time and within budget, proactively handling last-minute changes or challenges with flexibility and problem-solving to maintain a seamless experience for attendees.
Develop clear event run-of-show and contingency plans, ensuring all team members and stakeholders understand their roles and that events comply with relevant health, safety, and data privacy regulations.
Investor Engagement During Events:
Create an inviting, inclusive atmosphere at events that makes investors feel valued and connected to Oikocredit’s mission and community. This includes personal touches such as tailored content, language translation/interpretation services, and opportunities for direct interaction with Oikocredit leadership and beneficiaries.
Work with High Value Account Managers to personalize event invitations and follow-ups for key investors, ensuring that each invitee’s interests and needs are considered (for example, arranging special meet-and-greet opportunities or customized content for top investors).
Gather real-time feedback from event participants and ensure any investor questions or needs raised during events are addressed promptly by the relevant teams (Investor Support, Account Managers, etc.).
Cross-Departmental Coordination:
Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to develop event promotional materials, ensuring messaging is compelling and consistent with Oikocredit’s brand and resonates with high-value audiences.
Coordinate with subject matter experts, guest speakers (including senior leaders or partners), and regional support associations to align event content with strategic priorities and showcase Oikocredit’s impact and opportunities to the high-value investor community.
Work alongside IT team and others in Inflow to leverage event technologies (webinar platforms, CRM integrations for event registration and follow-up) and to ensure smooth data capture of attendee information and post-event actions.
Performance Tracking & Continuous Improvement:
Define and monitor event success metrics such as attendance rates, investor satisfaction scores, engagement levels during events (e.g. feedback, questions asked), and post-event investment outcomes (e.g. number of new leads or investments resulting from events).
Provide post-event reports and insights to the High Value and Mass Retail team, highlighting what went well and areas for improvement. Use these insights to recommend enhancements for future event strategies (e.g. format changes, content improvements, better targeting by language or investor segment).
Stay updated on industry best practices in event management, introducing new ideas and technologies (such as virtual event innovations or bespoke event experiences) to continually elevate the quality and impact of high-value investor events.
Education, skills and experience
Bachelor’s degree in event management, marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
3–6 years of experience in planning and executing events, preferably in fundraising, financial services, or nonprofit environments. Experience with events targeting high-net-worth individuals or corporate clients is a strong advantage.
Proven ability to manage both virtual and in-person events of varying scales, from intimate high-touch gatherings to larger conferences or seminars, delivering them successfully on time and within budget.
Highly organized with excellent time management and multitasking skills; capable of coordinating multiple events and projects without compromising quality or accuracy.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, including experience in working with senior executives, donors/investors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail, ensuring that event experiences are memorable, brand-aligned, and catered to the audience’s interests (including cultural and linguistic considerations).
Flexibility to work outside standard business hours and travel as needed for event execution. Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and to problem-solve in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
Passion for social impact and alignment with Oikocredit’s values; understanding of the importance of engaging mission-driven investors through meaningful experiences.
